Welcome to Vedha Panchangam ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by
Umashankar Sridharan. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect,
use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application
Vedha Panchangam (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide our services:
a) Information You Provide:
- City or location you select for Panchangam calculations
- Language preference (Tamil, Telugu, or English)
- Notification preferences (on/off settings)
- Name, phone number, and event details entered when booking Pandit Ji services
b) Information Collected Automatically:
- App usage data (screens visited, features used) via Firebase Analytics
- Device information (device type, operating system version)
- App crash reports and performance data
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications
⚠️ We do NOT collect your phone number, email address,
or any personal identity information unless you voluntarily provide it
for Pandit Ji booking.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To calculate and display daily Panchangam for your selected city
- To remember your language and notification preferences
- To send push notifications (daily Panchangam, festival alerts, vrata reminders)
- To forward Pandit Ji booking details to the service provider via WhatsApp
- To improve app performance and fix bugs using analytics data
- To understand how users interact with the App
3. Pandit Ji Service — WhatsApp Data Sharing
When you request Pandit Ji services, the following information you provide
is shared directly with the Pandit Ji via WhatsApp:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Event type and date
- Location or address
📱 This data is NOT stored on our servers. It is sent directly
to the Pandit Ji's WhatsApp. By submitting the booking form, you consent
to this data being shared via WhatsApp.
4. Firebase Analytics & Push Notifications
We use Google Firebase services for the following purposes:
- Firebase Analytics: To understand app usage patterns,
popular features, and user engagement. This data is anonymized and
aggregated — it does not personally identify you.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): To send push notifications
for daily Panchangam updates, festival alerts, and vrata reminders.
You can disable notifications anytime in the App Settings.
Firebase data is processed by Google LLC under their
Privacy Policy.
5. WhatsApp Sharing Feature
The App provides a feature to share the daily Panchangam as an image via WhatsApp
or other messaging apps. When you use this feature:
- A screenshot of the Panchangam screen is captured on your device
- You choose which app to share it through
- We do not store or transmit this image to our servers
6. Temple & Spiritual Content
All temple details, Parihara information, Nakshatra data, and Panchangam
calculations are stored locally within the App. No personal
data is required to access this content.
7. Data Storage & Security
- Your preferences (city, language, notification settings) are stored
locally on your device using secure storage
- We do not maintain any external database of user personal information
- All Firebase data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties

Our App uses the following third-party services:
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
9. Children's Privacy
Vedha Panchangam is designed for general audiences and is suitable for all ages.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us
and we will promptly delete it.
10. Your Rights & Choices
- Notifications: You can enable or disable push notifications
anytime in App Settings → Notifications
- City/Language: You can change your city and language
preferences anytime in App Settings
- Analytics Opt-out: You can opt out of Firebase Analytics
by uninstalling the App
- Data Deletion: Since we do not store personal data on
our servers, there is nothing to delete. Uninstalling the App removes
all locally stored preferences
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be
reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance
of the updated policy.
